The Quran Compiled by Maula Ali (AS)

The Quran Compiled by Imam Ali (AS) There is no dispute among Muslim scholars, whether they are Sunni or Shia, concerning the fact that the Commander of Believers, Ali (AS), possessed a special transcript of the text of Quran which he had collected himself, and he was THE FIRST who compiled Quran. There are a great number of traditions from Sunni and Shia which states that after the death of the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HF), Imam Ali sat down in his house and said that he had sworn an oath that he would not put on his outdoor clothes or leave his house until he collects together the Quran. Singing : A Greater Sin (Gunah e Kabira)

The sixteenth Greater sin is singing songs. Traditions have graded it amongst the mortal sins. This fact is clear from the narration of Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) as quoted by Amash. Muhammad Ibn Muslim relates that Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said, “Singing is that sin which has been promised a penalty of fire (Hell) by Allah.” It is evident from numerous reports, that whichever sin incurs Hell as its punishment, is a Greater Sin. Singing too falls in that category. What is Singing? Sayyid Murtadha, in his book, Wasīla writes, “Singing is Harām . It is also Harām to listen to a song or to sing for money. However every melodious sound is not a ‘song’. Singing denotes a special way of prolonging the voice and rotating it in the throat. These features are common in sensuous parties. Such type of singing is usually accompanied by music.” Most of the Shia Mujtahids and the experts of Arabic language opine that ‘singing’ means the turning and rotating of one’s voic

Music : A Greater Sin (Gunah e Kabira)

“ And to be engrossed in musical instruments is also a Greater Sin. ” All the Mujtahids are unanimous in their opinion that the manufacture, sale and purchase of musical instruments is Harām and the income derived from musical activity is also Harām . The transactions involving these (instruments) are invalid. It is Harām even to keep instruments of music in one’s possession. It is obligatory to destroy them. This is revealed in a lengthy tradition of Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) as recorded in the book “Tohafful Uqūl” . Similarly, Shaykh Hurr al-Āmili records the following tradition from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.): “The Almighty Allah has prohibited the manufacture of all such things that are exclusively used in Harām ways; and things that only create evil like pipe, flute, chess and all types of instruments of gambling, images, statues. The manufacture of all such articles is Harām.” Imam (a.s.) concluded, “T hen even learning to sing or play music and teaching it, to sing

Is Eid the End?

It looks like "The End" but with an 'I' instead of the 'N'. But it is "THE END" – of the Month of Ramadan. The Eid marks the celebration of a Muslim's successful fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. Specifically, this Eid is called Eid al-Fitr (the celebration of breaking fast). When the Month of Ramadan comes to an end, a believer tends to have mixed feelings. From one angle, the believer feels sad that the spiritual "coziness" of Ramadan is drifting away. From another angle, the believer is excited to welcome the Eid holiday spirit, which manifests itself on various levels in a believer's life. From the nuclear family, to the more distant relatives, to the local community, and even to the international Muslim community, the believer feels the spirit of Eid trying to fill in the huge vacancy the month of Ramadan left behind. It's important that we do not lose momentum as the month of Ramadan ends. In other words, a be

America Should Listen To Ahmadinejad

By Paul Craig Roberts 29/09/08 "ICH" -- - The full text of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech to the UN General Assembly last week was printed in the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz (9-25-08). Although our Founding Fathers would have comprehended and endorsed Ahmadinejad’s speech to the United Nations, present-day Americans would find it strange should they happen to hear about it. Unlike their forbears, Americans today live a material life, not a spiritual one. Americans are far too likely to dismiss Ahmadinejad’s words about obeisance to God and justice as the mumbo-jumbo of an “Islamist extremist.” The hubris of Americans and their belief in U.S. “exceptionalism” would cause them to reject Ahmadinejad’s holding the US, its NATO puppets, and Israel accountable before the UN General Assembly. So successfully has Ahmadinejad been demonized by the propagandistic US media that his speech would be dismissed out of hand by the arrogance of those who regard themselves

ALI(as), A PERSONALITY WITH TWO FACULTIES

ALI(A.S), A PERSONALITY WITH TWO FACULTIES Ali is from among those who have both the faculties of attraction and repulsion, and both these faculties in him are extremely forceful. Probably, throughout the bygone centuries and during all the times to come, we may fail to trace an attraction and repulsion as forceful as that of Ali. He has marvelous and historic, devoted and forbearing friends, who in his love aflame like a pyre burn and enlighten. They are fond and proud of laying down their lives for his cause; they in his love have ignored everyone else. Though years, rather centuries, have passed since his demise yet Ali's attraction perpetually intensifies, and bewilders the onlookers. In his lifetime of his contemporaries who were God loving, devoted and selfless, kind and forbearing, just and philanthropist rallied around him. Everyone of them has left in legacy an inspiring piece of history. After his death, particularly during the rule of Mo'awiyah and the Omayyed dynas
