Have we prepared ourselves for the Month of Ramadhan?

Have we prepared ourselves for the Month of Ramadhan? The best account of the greatness of this noble month is what Imam Ali (p.b.u.h.) narrated on the authority of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.&h.f.) when he spoke to a group of Moslems one day starting his speech by citing ‘the coming' -or advent- of Ramadhan to those who fast it. Obviously, the coming (advent) stems from the longing of the comer to those who welcome it. It is as if Ramadhan longs to those who fast it bringing along with it precious prizes like forgiveness which coincides with its onset. So, blessed is the one who acquires Allah's acceptance at the end of the fast! The month of Ramadhan is linked to Allah, The Great, and “Ramadhan is Allah's month" . This necessarily means that what this month has to offer is also great. The breaths, which are normally worthless, are regarded during this month as tasbeeh (Glorifying Allah), the Prophet says: “ Sleeping, which is identica

Imam Sajjad's Supplication For The Coming of Ramadhan

In the Name of Allah Imam Sajjad's Supplication For The Coming of Ramadhan Praise belongs to God who guided us to His praise and placed us among the people of praise, that we might be among the thankful for His beneficence and that He might recompense us for that with the recompense of the good-doers! And praise belongs to God who showed favour to us through His religion, singled us out for His creed, and directed us onto the roads of His beneficence, in order that through His kindness we might travel upon them to His good pleasure, a praise which He will accept from us and through which He will be pleased with us! And praise belongs to God who appointed among those roads His month, the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, the month of submission, the month of purity, the month of putting to test, the month of standing in prayer, in which the Qur'an was sent down as guidance to the people, and as clear signs of the Guidance and the Separator! He clarified its exce

Imam Sajjad (P.B.U.H.) Welcomes The Month of Ramadhan

In the Name of Allah Imam Sajjad (P.B.U.H.) Welcomes The Month of Ramadhan Praise be to Allah, who ordained this month, the month of Ramadhan, the month of fasting, the month of Islam, the month of purity, the month of purification, and the month of prayers. In this month the Qur'an was made to descend as a guidance to mankind and contains clear instructions and distinctions. He gave this month superiority over all other months by giving it abundant honor and dignity. He prohibited in it what He has allowed in other months in order to exalt it, and forbade in it food and drink in order to honor it. O Lord! Bless Mohammad and his family, and inspire us to know this month's excellence, and to honor its dignity, and to abstain from whatever You have forbidden in it. Help us to observe its fast, by restraining our limbs from disobeying You, and by employing them in that which would please You, so that we may not lend our ears to any vain speech, and may not direct our ey

The Sermon Given By The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) On The Last Friday of Shaban On The Reception Of The Month of Ramadhan

In the Name of Allah The Sermon Given By The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) On The Last Friday of Shaban On The Reception Of The Month of Ramadhan O People! Indeed ahead of you is the blessed month of Allah. A month of blessing, mercy and forgiveness. A month which with Allah is the best of months. Its days, the best of days, its nights, the best of nights, and its hours, the best of hours. It is the month which invites you to be the guests of Allah and invites you to be one of those near to Him. Each breath you take glorifies him; your sleep is worship, your deeds are accepted and your supplications are answered. So, ask Allah, your Lord; to give you a sound body and an enlightened heart so you may be able to fast and recite his book, for only he is unhappy who is devoid of Allah’s forgiveness during this great month. Remember the hunger and thirst of the day of Qiyamah (Judgment) with your hunger and thirst; give alms to the needy and poor, honor your old, show kindness to the yo
